Dissociative Identity Disorder and SSA
Dissociative Identity Disorder can be a response to severe, ongoing trauma during early childhood--such as sibling sexual abuse. Dr. Maggie Bell has lived experience with both SSA and DID, and in this blog she writes that "most of us [with DID] are just people you would never notice, carrying our wounds in hidden silence." She explains how having her personalities, or parts, collaborate to compose music helped her to break her silence, create awareness of DID, and know and accept her own parts.
